Last Sunday (7), Claudia Maria Barbosa from São Paulo was walking through the streets of São Paulo when she saw a puppy crying in a vacant lot.

As he approached, he noticed that he was chained to a wooden door next to another dog, lying unconscious on the floor.

“I was taking a walk along Avenida Brasil Gaivota when I came across a crying puppy attached to another one lying on the ground. The owner put the dogs on the chain and left […]”, reported Claudia in a post shared on Facebook.

Shocked and saddened by the scene, the woman decided to invade the land to help the animals. Unfortunately, she soon discovered something terrible there.

“I took the little one away because the other one was already dead and had hanged himself on the chain”, lamented Claudia.

In the midst of a quiet evening stroll through my neighborhood, I stumbled upon a distressing and heart-wrenching sight. There, on the dimly lit street corner, lay a poor, defenseless dog, chained and unconscious. The scene was nothing short of heartbreak.

As I approached, the dog’s frail body came into clearer view. Its fur, once vibrant and healthy, had now become matted and dirty, a testament to its prolonged suffering. The chain that bound it was rusty and too tight, causing visible discomfort and injury to the animal’s neck.

The dog’s eyes, once bright and full of life, were now dim and filled with fear and pain. Its feeble attempts to call for help with hoarse, raspy barks were heartbreaking, yet it received no response from the uncaring passersby. My heart ached as I witnessed this helpless creature’s plea go unanswered.

Without hesitation, I knew I had to act. I gently approached the dog, trying not to startle it further. I carefully inspected the chain and realized it was embedded deep into the skin, causing severe wounds. With trembling hands, I reached into my bag for a pair of scissors and painstakingly began to cut the chain away, careful not to cause any more harm.

As the chain fell to the ground, the dog slowly regained consciousness. Its trust in humans had been shattered, but as I offered a reassuring hand, it cautiously allowed me to stroke its head. Tears welled up in my eyes as I contemplated the cruelty it had endured.

My next step was clear – to find immediate medical attention for this suffering soul. With the dog cradled gently in my arms, I sought out the nearest animal shelter or veterinary clinic that could provide the care and rehabilitation it so desperately needed.

This encounter served as a stark reminder of the importance of compassion and empathy towards our fellow creatures. It was a call to action, a plea for change.

The surviving puppy was taken in by the woman from São Paulo. Shortly afterwards, she called on the competent authorities to collect the deceased doggo; The owner of these animals will be held responsible for what she did, according to the Samson Law
