Inter Miami is reportedly planning a ‘incredible transfer’ to get David de Gea, a former star for Manchester United

Inter Miami has apparently been approached by David Beckham, who is purportedly interested in bringing David de Gea, a former goalkeeper for Manchester United, to Major League Soccer.

After turning down a lucrative offer to play in the Saudi league, De Gea’s contract at Old Trafford expired in the summer, leaving him without a club.

The Sun reports that David Beckham, a co-owner of the Miami Heat, is now reportedly considering a move.

The Spanish goalkeeper reportedly has “some appeal” for a transfer to the Sunshine State.

After snatching Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, the Miami Marlins would add David De Gea to their list of notable acquisitions.

If Miami wants to sign De Gea, they may need to reorganize their roster to meet MLS regulations.

They have Leonardo Campagna, Messi, and Busquets as their three Designated Players. A player whose contract is signed to the team outside of the salary cap is known as a Designated Player in Major League Soccer.

Former De Gea international teammate Alba, a defender, joined Messi and Busquets in the United States on a $1.7 million-a-year deal as a TAM (‘Target Allecation Money’ player), a significant salary decrease.

Though he allegedly turned down a $500,000-a-week offer to play in the Saudi league, De Gea is unlikely to follow Alba’s example. However, nothing is stopping him from doing so.

Last year, Miami finished second in the US Open Cup and won the Leagues Cup, but they did not make it to the MLS playoffs.

After a terrible first half of the season, Miami’s coach Phil Neville was let go and replaced by Tata Martino, only weeks before Messi’s transfer was finalized.

They failed to advance to the playoffs despite having Messi as their captain.
