According to the latest revelation from Mundo Deportivo, Inter Miami is keeping an eye on Sergi Roberto. The Spanish defender is the captain of FC Barcelona but has struggled to get on the field this season. Roberto only appearing 8 times in all competitions this season is not part of coach Xavi’s plan.
However, the 31-year-old versatile player promptly reminded the Blaugrana of his quality by coming on in midfield against Almeria and scoring a brace to help the team win. This player’s contract with Barca will expire at the end of this season but he has not been offered a new contract yet. This situation alarmed Inter Miami when the team co-owned by David Beckham plotted to reunite Roberto with former teammates Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez.
The above source also added that this veteran defender wants to stay at Camp Nou. Roberto has instructed his agent not to listen to offers until April or May. He wants to focus on earning a new contract at his boyhood club.
